Ok, seriously, do you not love this baby’s onesie?!! I fell in love with it the minute I saw what it said….and even more so, loved that fact that Mom and Dad wanted to photograph their daughter in it! So awesome. This session was completely laid back and couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Mom and Dad didn’t hold back in showing the love they felt for their new addition and this little babe just took it all in.
The light wasn’t completely on my side, but we worked with what we had. I ended up shooting 75% of this session in their kitchen!! Turned out to be a wonderful afternoon.

I couldn’t help but share a couple of these images from my session today with the stunning Julie Miller of Jewel Image here in Calgary. When Julie asked me a few months back to shoot her family I couldn’t have been more excited. A session for another photographer can be a little nerve wracking, but super rewarding at the same time. Julie showed up looking super hot with her clan of handsome men! Look how sweet Julie had everyone dressed, check ‘em out! More to come soon. Thanks again guys for a fabulous afternoon!

On a gorgeous evening earlier this week I headed out with local wedding photographer Johnny Tran of JT Images to shoot him and his awesome family! (oh, and we can’t forget their 2 weiner dogs!…you’ll see them later). We started off with sushi for dinner (thanks guys!) and then a fun evening hanging out in the sweet light. Here’s one for now. :)

Even dressed up in a tutu, lookin’ all purty for picture day, this is Hannah. The little things she does, her personality, all shining through. Sometimes parents don’t want their kids to do the normal things they do every day during a session. For me, I truly love it, all the little things they do are so much a part of who they are. As adults, sometimes we have a hard time truly being ourselves, children do this so well. They are who they are. So precious.

I think this little girlie was the smallest newborn I’ve gotten to photograph. I think she maybe has the most hair too. Another thing, for being so tiny, and so new, she gave me some eye contact that you just don’t get with a baby this young, pure awesomness!! Here she is in all her sweetness! Thank you guys for a wonderful afternoon.

Yellowknife princess

While in Yellowknife a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to meet this little sweetheart!! Her Grandma and my Mom have been really good friends for years. We finally got some nice weather while we were there, so along with shooting some images indoors, we braved the mosquitos and headed into the sun for some as well. Turned out to be a gorgeous day! Here’s a sneak peek at a couple of the images. Isn’t she sweet!

Yellowknife NWT Sessions Available!!

Do those little skinny trees in the image below look familiar to all you YK peeps?? Well they should! lol :)

I will be coming up to Yellowknife in about a month and am offering up a few sessions while I’m there. Space will be limited. Availability will be between July 3 & July 12. One good thing…there will lots of light!

I must admit I’m looking forward to the daylight. Besides family and friends, I think that is the one thing that I do miss about Yellowknife (’cause I’m not gonna lie, there are a lot of things that I do not miss lol!). All that light in the summer…..soon enough I will be living it. (along with all the mosquitos! ACK lol)

I’m only up in the good ‘ol North every couple years so if you’ve ever considered a session with me….now is your chance. We’ll experience the unlimited light and bugs together!

Sweet Newborn

Back in March I received a call asking if I’d like to donate a session to the Calgary Flames Wives Charity Auction. Of course I had to say yes! And from what I hear the auction was a complete success, raising more than double last years total with this year only being the second one. How awesome is that! Eagerly I awaited the call for this teeny sweet newborn to make her appearance. She was born a few weeks early and ended up being an angel during the whole session. I LOVED that she learnt how to suck her thumb for the first time while I was there to capture it.

I was excited when this Mom inquired about a session with just her and her daughter. We opted to shoot downtown Calgary and enjoyed the afternoon walking around. It was a gorgeous day to be outside! (except in the shade lol) I love that they brought the pink polk a dot stroller. They moved recently from the US and I really enjoyed all the “ma’ams” they passed back and forth. So awesome.
